My Setup: Hardware & Software
No, I will not be giving you my stuff.
Main PC
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
Top-tier multi-core performance, essential for compiling code, running VMs, and high-end gaming. While an X3D chip would be better cost to performance for gaming, my other activities do not benefit from the 3D VCache.
PNY RTX 4080 Super
1440p high-refresh-rate gaming, accelerates GPU-intensive development tasks, and local AI.
64GB DDR5-6000 & 7TB NVMe
64GB of RAM is necessary for large development environments and virtual machines. Multiple NVMEs provide fast, segregated storage for OS, projects, and games.
ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi
ASRock got better.
Lian Li x DAN A3 Wood
Needed something relatively small, while being decent at cooling and being able to fit a 4080 SUPER. Don't question the cable management.
Software & Services
JetBrains WebStorm
Go-to for web development, particularly in React.js.
JetBrains Rider
Go-to for C# web development. Particularly good for my native Linux use.
Obsidian
Best note-taking and organization app.
Jellyfin
Local media reigns king. Connected to Feishin/Symfonium for music and Jellyfin's native app for shows and movies.
Peripherals
Keychron K8 Pro
No-frills tenkeyless that works equally good for typing and games. Using Gateron EF Curry switches.
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro
I like heavy mice. Shoot me if you must.
Xbox Elite Series 2
Primary controller for PC gaming.
PlayStation DualSense
Fallback for PC, primarily for PlayStation 5.
Logitech G920
Decent enough entry wheel and pedals.
Logitech X56
Despite some defects, when you figure out how to work around them they do work well enough.
Schiit Fulla E
Entry DAC to power headphones, but primarily use it to hook my microphone and headphones up to one thing.
Sennheiser HD620s
Great audiophile headphones if constrained to closed-backs. No need for headset gamerslop.
Antlion Modmic Uni
This is why gamerslop should not be bought. Attach it to any headphones, and now you have a headset.
Nothing Ear Open
Earbuds that are good for situational awareness.
ASUS ROG Strix 1440p OLED
OLED good.
LG 1440p VA
VA okay. Good second monitor.
Home Server
Dell R730XD
Server for NAS backups, web hosting, virtual machines, networking... too much to list.
2x Intel Xeon E5-2678W v3
Processors that have a good balance to core count and clock speed, given enterprise workloads.
